occupations (5.1 million jobs).

in labor force participation over the 2000-2010 period. The number
of women in the labor force is projected to increase from 65.6
million in 2000 to 75.5 million in 2010--an increase of 15.1
percent. The number of men in the labor force is projected to
increase from 75.2 million in 2000 to 82.2 million in 2010--a 9.3
percent increase. By 2010, women are projected to account for 48
percent of the total labor force.
