HRDC Job Bank

 

HRDC Job Bank is the largest Web-based network of job postings available to Canadians.

 

  • Between 300,000 and 500,000 new jobs are posted every year.
  • Over 30,000 job postings can be accessed at any one time.
  • Up to 2,000 new jobs are posted every day.

 

HRDC Job Bank has introduced a new feature called Job Bank for Employers that lets employers post their job openings free of charge through the Internet. Employers are able to manage their own job advertisements at their own convenience – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please note that the HRDC Job Bank has been re-located. It is now situated on the 1st floor outside of the Fitness Centre (1H5) across from Aromas.

 

HRDC Job Bank provided by Human Resource Development Canada (HRDC) Belleville, this self-serve computer station provides access to the National Job Bank to display job vacancies, Labour Market Information (LMI) and local labour market data.

 

HRDC Job Bank allows the client to search and view job orders available from the National Employment Services System.  Searches can focus on a certain geographic area or job category. You may also access the HRDC Job Bank online by visiting http://jb-ge.hrdc-drhc.gc.ca/

 

Job Search at HRDC Job Bank: Allows you to search by occupation or to search all jobs posted in the last 48 hours. If you know the Job Number of a certain job, you can search by those criteria as well. You can also create your résumé using HRDC Job Bank’s résumé builder tool  and register on the Job Alert tool  to get e-mail notices about jobs matching your personal search criteria.

Now let’s see other activities of HRDC Job Bank. Summer Work Experience creates summer employment for secondary and post-secondary students, and supports the operation of summer employment offices. This program is delivered in partnership with various private, public and not-for-profit groups. Summer Work Experience helps students find career-related summer jobs by providing wage subsidies to employers. It also funds information and promotional activities. Summer Work Experience initiatives include:

 

Summer Career Placements and other summer employment initiatives — wage subsidies for private, public and not-for-profit employers to create career-related summer jobs for secondary and post-secondary students. There are special provisions for employers who hire students with disabilities. These jobs provide students with the opportunity to acquire skills, gain valuable work experience and help finance their return to school. Summer Work Experience helps thousands of students add work experience to their résumés and break the “no experience/no job—no job/ no experience” cycle.

 

 

Human Resources Centers of Canada for Students — located across Canada and open to the public from May to August, these offices help students find summer jobs and offer group information and one-on-one sessions on résumé writing, preparing for interviews and looking for a job. Employers can access services free of charge to find motivated employees for the summer months. Offices also provide students and potential employers with up-to-date information about wage rates and labour laws, health and safety in the workplace, and information on other federal and provincial youth employment programs.

 

Who can participate in summer employment initiatives? Secondary and post-secondary students between the ages of 15 and 30 (inclusive) who are:

 

  • Returning to full-time studies; and
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

 

Now the sponsors to HRDC Job Bank Summer Work Experience: Businesses, organizations (including not-for-profit, professional, employer and labour associations), public health and educational institutions, band/tribal councils and municipal governments. Employers interested in being a sponsor should contact their local Human Resources Development Canada office or visit youth.gc.ca for more information on federal partner initiatives.
